Pilots
denounced for demanding pay hikes!
By Lucky Tan
This is so absurd!
They
are already among the best paid pilots in the world....oh
this is totally shameless. They are suppose to have a passion
and love for flying but all we see is greed for more money.
Nobody
in Singapore has the right to demand higher pay....can the
poorly paid cleaner ask for higher pay? Can bus drivers
award themselves pay hikes? Who do these pilots think they
are!
Their
overdeveloped sense of entitlement is so so outrageous and
unjustifiable, just because they belong to the most profitable
airlines in the world doesn't mean they deserve more because
it is the collective effort of countless other employees
(stewardess, ticketing staff, baggage handlers etc) that
brought about this success.
The
pilots are asking to be paid more for A380 because they
are responsible for more people. Are they trying to hold
us hostage in their negotiation for higher pay? We all know
that the plane will crash and sink into the ocean if it
is piloted by incompetent people.
However
to use this to justify their pay hike is so underhanded
because we have no alternative source for pilots other than
the Alpa-S union.
While
the pilots claim to be underpaid and making a painful sacrifice
to be in SIA, the turnover rate of 1% shows that this is
not the case....contrary to their claims, they can't do
better else where.
If they
continue to make unreasonable demands, you can be sure that
our esteeemed MM Lee will step in and crush them just like
he did their former colleague Ryan Goh. People who ask for
unreasonable pay hikes deserve to be fired, humiliated and
banished.
Singaporeans
are so lucky to have a dedicated MM who will see that justice
is done.

Is
This A Sign of Things To Come?
By TracyTan866
The PAP thinks that its members have done such a tremendous
job but are underpaid. The PAP Ministers have demanded a
pay increase and, despite valid and vehement protests, have
bulldozed its way through.
Now the SIA Pilots Association thinks that its pilots have
done such a tremendous job but are underpaid. The pilots
have demanded a pay increase and will most likely bulldoze
into getting what it wants as LKY and the PAP have lost
their moral high ground and cant go around breaking bones
because the pilots are using the same arguments as the pap
to demand a pay increase.
Will others follow suit? Is this a sign of things to come
for Singapore?
It's sad because, despite its self-proclaimed intellect,
the PAP leaders are very myopic and self- serving. By demanding
a pay increase which they neither deserve nor need, the
PAP has started a bad trend which will only lead to greed
and more greed in Singapore
Einfield
Singapore is unique.
Only LKY and his (people) can use this argument.
If the Pilots use the same argument, he will come with his
knuckle duster to break their bones.
TracyTan866
I suspect LKY wants to use his knuckles to knock the pilots
and get them into line. But his hands are tied now because
of his unwise move to increase teh ministers pay beyond
reason.
That's why I said the PAP has lost its moral high ground
to govern singapore. From now on, the demand for more pay
will come back to haunt them in their conduct
Einfield
To a despot anything is possible, inside this little red
dot, he is GOD himself. I'm sure he is watching and if things
get out of hands, some heads will get busted.
Remember the last clash? Ryan Goh I think from Alpha S got
kick out of SIA.
honour6
He got kicked out of Singapore altogether.
TracyTan866
yes, Ryan was banished from Singapore.
But with his unwise move to legitimise the PAP ministers
pay increase, LKY risks more damage should he step in to
stop the pilot's demand.
